Dear Members:
We are happy to advise that 2020 membership registration is now open. We are expecting to open Monday afternoon or Tuesday the latest. The parking lot may or may NOT be open on Monday but know that the city is working to expedite the opening of club parking lots over the next two weeks.
On-line registration is now open and once you complete the payment process, your fob will be activated to gain access to the club. Please note that it is standard practice for you to sign a waiver as part of the registration process to use the club courts following Regional, Provincial and/or Federal health directives, best practices orders. The Club appreciates your cooperation in following the COVID-19 protocols which have been put in place to protect members, club attendants and our community.
If you are a new member without a fob, please login to your account, purchase a fob and then contact membership@whiteoaksparktennis.com so arrangements can be made for pickup.
Please understand that the club is open under specific conditions and only for limited activities. As you can appreciate, social distancing and related practices to minimize health risks are still in place.
Here are the guidelines provided by the City of Mississauga that we must adhere to:

  • All members are encouraged to monitor their health and follow the physical distancing guidelines of 6 feet / 2 metres apart
  • All courts are singles play only, unless household members.
  • Family doubles – 2 people from the same household can play against another 2 people from another household. Use 2 cans of clearly marked tennis balls
  • Avoid touching surfaces such as fences and nets
  • Chairs, benches and ball machines will not be permitted on the courts
  • Club houses will only be open for washroom access, first aid and hand washing
  • Internal gates are to remain in the open position where possible to decrease touch points
  • Do not share any items such as tennis balls, racquets or water bottles
  • Use your racquet or feet to return tennis balls to others
  • Wash or sanitize your hands before and after play
  • Only one parent/guardian if possible should be permitted to accompany younger children
  • Guests are NOT permitted
  • Stay home if you are sick

Whiteoaks Executive Board has approved further guidelines to ensure your safety and wellbeing:

  1. What we envision is a small number of members being at the club at any one time, playing tennis, using marked tennis balls and then leaving immediately. To avoid getting close to others, players should always stay on their own court and ask adjacent players to send back errant tennis balls.
  2. NEW: An online booking system through our website will be the way to book a court. Log in to the member site and book up to one hour of court time as available.  Bookings can occur 24 hours prior to playing, depending on availability. You are to check in with the club attendant when you arrive. In the next few days, the vendor will be making additional improvement to the online booking to match our booking rules.
  3. NEW: Play time is increased from 30 to 60 minutes as members are NOT to hang around the club. The chalk board will NOT be used.  Court 8 may not be available if in use by the pro. You are asked to leave the court 5 minutes early to allow for social distancing. This then means that you have 55 minutes of play time.
  4. NEW: Two club attendants have been hired to ensure there is an attendant at the club during peak morning and afternoon/evening hours. If there is no attendant available, players are expected to share the courts according to normal rules of etiquette.
  5. Remember to bring hand sanitizer, water, towel etc. with you.
  6. Since all organized programs (men’s and ladies’ evenings, social round robins, tournaments, league play) have been cancelled this season, the blocked off time periods on the monthly calendar for these events are open for play.
  7. The singles ladder will be activated. Starting June 6th, players can start sending challenges.
  8. Attila Nagy and his staff will be offering lessons on Court 8.

IMPORTANT: MEMBERS MUST NOT ENTER THE COURTS IF:

  1. You have returned from overseas or any other province in the last 14 days.
  2. You are under direction to self-monitor or self isolate.
  3. You are experiencing any cold/flu symptoms (cough, fever, runny nose, sore throat, weakness, headache, respiratory issues or under medication for such)
  4. If a member or anyone in your family develop the signs and symptoms and is diagnosed with Covid19, it is imperative that you inform WOTC Board via email.

Despite these restrictions, we hope you enjoy your tennis under these unfortunate but necessary conditions.
Sincerely

Whiteoaks Park Tennis Club Executive Board
