2020 AGM Meeting

The summer of 2020 has been unusual but we were able to play tennis during the pandemic! Your safety has been and continues to be our uppermost concern.

Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Due to the current restrictions on gatherings and the weather, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be conducted on Zoom on Monday, November 16, 2020 at 7:00 p.m.

The meeting will be streamlined and the agenda for the meeting will consist of the following items:
– Approval of Minutes from Oct 2019 AGM
– President’s report highlight
– A voting process for the 2021 Executive Board and amendments to the club by-laws

2021 Executive Board
At the AGM, you will be voting for the next Executive Board for 2021. The board consists of 7 to 10 members and once voted in, will be responsible for the management of the club going forward. In addition to the usual positions, the club needs a volunteer with computer expertise. Since the club uses various technologies, it would be most helpful to have such a volunteer on the board.
The nomination form for the 2021 Executive Board is provided above under item #4. If you are interested in applying to be a member of the Board, please complete the form, obtain a nominee and seconder and submit the form to info@whiteoaksparktennis.com no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2020. Members will be provided with a list of nominees at the AGM for a vote on November 16, 2020.

Other Items
The City of Mississauga has a requirement that our by-laws be updated.  The term “member” has been used in the past to mean a member who is 18 years old and older. However clubs have members who are younger than 18 years. The city requires clubs to update terminology from “member” to “Senior member”, when it comes to such items as voting. The voting process will include an item for you to vote on this change.

Summary
The AGM requires a quorum of at least 25 members.  It is our hope that you will take the time to join the meeting and vote on November 16th at 7:00 pm.
Please ensure that you are able to connect to the meeting by adding Zoom to your computer or device.
